Seeya Fashion Week represented by Tarashe by Kiran: Where Indian Tradition Met the Global Runway at New York Fashion Week 2025
On 14th September 2025, Designer Kiran Tuteja took center stage at New York Fashion Week, held at 1604 Broadway, New York, representing both her label, Tarashe by Kiran, and Seeya Fashion Week (SFW) — India’s fast-emerging platform for new-age designers.
For Seema Vashishth, the founder of Seeya Fashion Week, this global representation was the realization of a powerful vision — to create a world-class platform that nurtures India’s creative talent and positions them on international fashion runways. Seema’s dedication to mentoring, guiding, and promoting independent designers has helped transform SFW into a trusted incubator of originality and artistic courage.
The October 2024 edition of Seeya Fashion Week had already captured national attention for its innovative themes and inclusivity. NYFW 2025 was the next natural step — taking Indian creativity from domestic success to international acclaim.
Kiran’s label, Tarashe, stood out for its philosophy of emotion-driven design.
“I design for the woman I wanted to be, the woman I used to be, and the woman I am still a part of,” said Kiran. “Every design is a chapter of my story — and hopefully, of every woman who wears it.”
Her NYFW collection was inspired by Madhubani art — one of India’s oldest storytelling traditions from Bihar. Blending fine-line detailing, symbolic motifs, and vibrant palettes, she transformed this ancient form into high-fashion couture that resonated with a modern global audience.

Rich shades of vermilion, indigo, lotus pink, and gold danced across fluid fabrics and contemporary silhouettes. Each ensemble narrated tales of divinity, love, and feminine power — capturing the soul of Indian heritage while appealing to international sensibilities.
Her New York-based models brought this vision to life, embodying the fusion of East and West that Tarashe represents. The runway presentation stood as a reminder that fashion transcends geography — it’s a universal language of emotion, identity, and beauty.
For Seeya Fashion Week, this achievement symbolized a pivotal moment. As Seema Vashishth reflected, “Our goal has always been to give a global voice to Indian designers. Kiran’s success at NYFW reaffirms that Indian craftsmanship, when paired with authenticity, belongs on every major runway in the world.”
With each stitch, Tarashe by Kiran didn’t just showcase clothing — it showcased India’s cultural pride, feminine strength, and design evolution.
And through Seeya Fashion Week’s ever-growing vision, this moment marked the beginning of a new era — where Indian stories, told through design, continue to shine on international stages.
